  • I-10 Expansion between Verrado Way and State Route 85: This project aims to widen I-10, adding new lanes to accommodate increasing traffic. The interchanges at Miller and Watson roads are being reconstructed into Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDIs), a design known to enhance traffic efficiency and reduce collision points. The project is slated for completion in the summer of 2023.

  • Jackrabbit Trail Traffic Interchange Study: Plans are underway to reconstruct the existing interchange, incorporating traffic signals and widening ramps to provide additional turn lanes. This includes removing and rebuilding the I-10 bridges over Jackrabbit Trail and expanding Jackrabbit Trail to three lanes in each direction south of McDowell Road and north of Van Buren Street.

  • Transportation Projects Funded by the 2024 Bond: Buckeye's commitment to infrastructure is evident through the approval of a General Obligation Bond in 2024. The bond finances a range of street construction, rehabilitation, safety, and enhancement projects, ensuring that the city's road network meets the demands of its growing population.

The area plan defines the development vision for this critical part of the city, with community input playing a pivotal role in its shaping.
