GLENDALE, AZ (January 28, 2025) — If you thought your coffee routine was getting boring, Nestlé just gave you 675 million reasons to get excited. That’s right, the coffee creamer giant has officially cut the ribbon on its brand-new beverage factory and distribution center in Glendale, Arizona! The facility will be churning out everyone’s favorite coffee sidekicks, including Coffee mate®, natural bliss®, and Starbucks® creamers. And the best part? This factory is built to expand, meaning even more delicious coffee upgrades could be on the way.
Coffee + Creamer = Big Business
According to science (and probably your local barista), over 70% of coffee drinkers add creamer to their daily cup of joe. And with younger generations fueling the caffeine craze, Nestlé is staying ahead of the game by investing in this massive facility.
“Coffee culture is booming across the U.S. as consumers seek more options for customization and experimentation when it comes to their coffee at home,” said Daniel Jhung, President of Coffee & Beverage for Nestlé USA. “As the definitive leader in refrigerated creamers, we are focused on delivering on those consumer needs. This new facility was built with the flexibility needed to support innovation, and we’re excited to be part of the Glendale community.”
The Glendale Super-Factory: More Than Just a Pretty Warehouse
At 630,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art factory is a technological marvel designed to meet changing consumer tastes, seasonal trends, and probably your sudden need for pumpkin spice everything in the fall. It also means 300 new jobs for the Glendale community and a strategic location that gets Nestlé's products closer to West Coast retailers.
And in case you’re wondering if they’re just here to stir up coffee, think again. Nestlé is all about sustainability, and this new factory is proof:
Water Recycling Champions: The facility can reuse up to 75% of its processed water (because Arizona and water conservation go hand in hand). Nestlé is even teaming up with Arizona State University to push innovation in water management.
Eco-Friendly Bottles: Their creamer bottles are now recyclable and made from food-grade recycled plastic (so your love for coffee doesn’t have to wreck the planet).
Zero Waste Factory: They recycle, compost, and recover energy from waste so nothing goes to a landfill (which is more than we can say about your failed New Year’s resolutions).
Renewable Electricity: Because cutting carbon emissions is just as important as cutting calories from your venti caramel macchiato.
A Latte Love for the Community
Nestlé isn’t just here to cream up your coffee; they’re also making a serious impact in the community. In celebration of the grand opening, they’re donating $100,000 to St. Mary’s Food Bank. That’s 500,000 meals for people in need across Glendale and Arizona! Plus, they’re bringing job training programs to help locals get into manufacturing careers.
Arizona Commerce Authority President & CEO Sandra Watson called it a big win for the state, saying, “Nestlé strengthens Arizona’s manufacturing industry and highlights the rapid economic momentum in the West Valley.”
Meanwhile, Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers is also thrilled: “The City of Glendale is honored to partner with Nestlé to bring jobs to our community and advance our economy as a hub for the food and beverage industry.”
What’s Next? More Creamer, More Innovation, More Coffee Love
With this new Glendale facility, Nestlé now operates 20 food and beverage factories across the U.S., including Nestlé Purina in Flagstaff and Nestlé Health Science in Prescott. They’re not just making products; they’re making an impact—on your morning coffee, the environment, and the local economy.
So, if your coffee ritual is about to get a whole lot creamier, you can thank Nestlé for bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase "milk and honey of the desert."
